When Gojyo wakes up, he's back in his room.
It would have been so easy to dismiss the memory as a dream, and god, he would really like to. But the physical evidence is clear: the scratches on his chest are faint and nearly healed, but the ring of nail marks around the base of his cock will itch for another two days at least.
Not a dream, then.
He showers and dresses on automatic, chaining through a never-ending series of cigarettes (fresh, they're always fresh: the only thing that doesn't reset every night is him) until the room is lost in a cloud of acrid gray smoke.
He's never felt so betrayed. Love is supposed to hurt -- Mom taught him that -- but he never expected it to hurt like this. He's always known Hakkai would leave him one day. The people he cares about always leave him, that's just a given, like the sun rising. But to torture him first, until he broke and begged... that he can't forgive. Gojyo doesn't have much in the way of pride, but there are some things a man can't let go unpunished.
Hakkai is somewhere in this hotel, and Gojyo's going to find him. Now.

Hakkai is somewhere in this hotel, and Gojyo's going to find him. Now.

"One more word and I shoot you."
Then over his shoulder, he called, "Don't think about, Hakkai."

There was a moment of indecision. Should he attempt it? The door was just a step away... but if he took that chance, it could end up with Sanzo shooting him and he had a feeling that Gojyo's earlier threat wasn't just a threat.
Shoving his hands in his pockets, he ducked his head and looked back down the hall and after his... companions.
At this point, he couldn't really call them friends.

Oh.
God fucking dammit. He'd been so mad that he'd forgotten just how fragile Hakkai was. How little it took to send him over the edge.
"Oi," he called back. "You think I saved your ass back there just so you could hand it over to this fuckin' hotel?" Emphatically, he dropped his cigarette on the lush red carpet and ground it into dust, smearing charcoal and tobacco bits in as wide a patch as he could.
"You can't get rid of us that easy."

"If three of us are rooming together then that means three in a room," he pointed out as he lit up.

For now, his brain was locked in a loop, jumbled words ringing in his head as he absently reached up to examine his swollen eye.
I've had enough of your hands- all the pain you want- that's it- after fucking your sister-
Before he realized what he was doing, he was working his swollen, split lips into some cracked version of his usual placid smile.

So Gojyo said nothing, waiting silently for Hakkai to catch up with him and Sanzo. Only then did he turn to Sanzo, with his best petulant monkey impression.
"Are we there yet?"
no subject
"Here."
So apparently he wasn't the best judge for whether they needed a new room or not.

Yeah, he could live here.
"You've been holdin' out on me, Sanzo!" Gojyo cackled, flopping onto the bed (boots and all). "Flip ya for th'bed."
no subject
"Get off before I kill you."
That was his bed, damn it.

Hakkai half listened to the others in the other room as he leaned in to check out just how bad he looked in the mirror before he started to clean himself up. From what he could tell, the bathroom was a good deal larger as well, which was a good thing as it seemed they'd be sharing it... unless Gojyo didn't get off the bed.

Besides, he was convinced it was easier to avoid the sex issue if they weren't allowed on the bed. How he'd convinced himself of this was a mystery but that was how he was dealing with the hotel.

"It's big enough for all three of us an' you know it. ...You should at least share with Hakkai! He's fuckin' wounded! You're not gonna make a wounded guy sleep on th'floor, are ya?"
no subject
"Are you angry enough to think he deserved his injuries or do you care so much that you want his injuries treated? Pick one."

"This was a terrible fucking idea," he said at last, stomping out the door. At least, that was the plan. But the door -- and the hotel -- apparently had other ideas. It didn't budge.
"Oh fuck you, no!"
no subject
What did that kappa just say?
"Excuse me?"
no subject
... he couldn't do that. He just couldn't. Not now.

"We're locked in." A wry shrug accompanied his deadpan explanation. "Who knows for how long."
Because Sanzo wouldn't, and Hakkai wouldn't. And that meant they were trapped.
no subject
He remembered how this was supposed to work from explanations. If the door locked then sex would unlock it. Damn it...

He let his gaze drift over to Sanzo when he heard the gunshot and for a moment, a wry smile teased at his lips. It was a fleeting thing, though, as he let his gaze look back towards the redhead he'd been trying so hard to avoid.
"Perhaps it'll work with just two... but knowing our luck, I doubt it."
no subject
No choice? No way, there was always a choice. Maybe the hotel wanted them to fuck for it's entertainment, but Gojyo wasn't okay with that. Not after what had happened with Hakkai. And Sanzo... Gojyo fixed the monk with a considering gaze. Sanzo would be more likely to shoot them both.
"We're not..." For the first time since their fight Gojyo looked at Hakkai, and really saw the swelling and bruises he'd caused. He'd done that. Had Hakkai really deserved it? "There's got t'be another way out."
no subject
Turning, he looked over at the redhead. Despite his irritation, he was surprisingly calm about the situation at hand. Right now, Sanzo wanted an answer to what he'd asked before Gojyo had tried to run.
"Did he deserve it or do you care enough to take care of Hakkai instead?"
